Shift:12-hour rotating schedule
• Day | 6:00am-6:30pm
• Night | 6:00pm-6:30am

Forklift Operator Description

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Recycling Forklift Operator to transport recyclable materials throughout the facility while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant recycling operation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and lift trucks to transport recyclable and scrap materials throughout the facility
• Load and unload trailers, production lines, recycling areas, and waste collection locations
• Move pallets, gaylords, drums, containers, and other materials to designated storage areas
• Sort and separate recyclable materials according to company procedures
• Assist with baling cardboard, plastics, paper, and other recyclable materials
• Prepare damaged materials, containers, and drums for recycling and outbound shipment
• Weigh recyclable materials prior to shipment and maintain accurate material handling processes
• Load outbound recycling trailers while ensuring proper weight distribution and load security
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Keep recycling areas, compactors, and waste handling locations clean, organized, and free of debris
• Follow all forklift, environmental, and safety procedures at all times
• Assist other departments as needed to support plant operations

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience required
• Forklift certification is preferred (or ability to become certified)
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, or material handling experience preferred
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors as needed
• Strong attention to safety, organization, and teamwork
• Dependable attendance and a positive work ethic required
