Accounts Receivable Specialist - Louisville or IndianapolisPosted on February 10, 2026Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP is recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to reside in our Louisville, KY or Indianapolis, IN office locations. The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the firm's accounts receivable processes, including billing support, collections, cash application, and client account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and accounting leadership to ensure timely and accurate revenue collection.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash receipt application, and account reconciliationsMonitor aged receivables and actively follow up with attorneys and clients regarding outstanding balancesProcess and post client payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) accurately and timelyAssist with monthly billing, including reviewing prebills, making edits as requested, and distributing finalized invoicesResolve billing discrepancies and client account issues in a professional and timely mannerMaintain accurate client and matter records in the firm's financial and billing systemsPrepare AR aging reports and other requested financial reports for managementEnsure compliance with firm policies, client billing guidelines, and applicable accounting standardsCollaborate with attorneys, practice groups, and administrative staff to support collection effortsAssist with audits and special accounting projects as neededQualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 2–4 years of accounts receivable experience; law firm or professional services experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with legal billing practices, trust accounting, and client billing guidelines is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/billing software (experience with legal accounting system, Elite 3E, preferred)Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentProfessional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information with discretionKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsCustomer‑service mindset with the ability to diplomatically handle collection conversationsHighly organized with strong time‑management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamJob Type: Full-timeBenefits: 401(k), 401(k) matching, Dental insurance, Disability insurance, Employee assistance program, Flexible spending account, Health insurance, Health savings account, Life insurance, Paid time off, Referral program, Vision insuranceSchedule: Monday to Friday & On callAbility to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Working Conditions: We are seeking a talented individual who can thrive in both an in‑office and a remote working environment.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
