Accounts Receivable Specialist

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing Fairfield-based organization to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong experience in cash application, billing, and commercial collections. Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily cash receipts and accurately apply payments to customer accounts

  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable activities

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner

  • Conduct commercial collections and follow up on past-due accounts

  • Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies and deduction issues

  • Reconcile accounts receivable balances and customer statements

  • Monitor aging reports and maintain collection notes

  • Partner with internal departments to resolve billing concerns

  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable

  • Prepare AR reports and maintain accurate customer records

  • Perform account reconciliations and support audit requests as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field highly preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent accounts receivable experience

  • Proven expertise in commercial collections is required

  • Strong cash application and billing experience

  • Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions

  • Experience reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
