This is a sensitive government position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is to oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Accounts Receivable activity for the agency. Analyze financial information and programs, make recommendations to management, and prepare a range of financial reports, including specialized or non-standard reports.
Supervise and plan work of Accounts Receivable staff, implement training for supervised staff while ensuring all accounting policies are being followed in accordance with GAAP, federal and state guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Occasionally light lifting/or moving boxes or supplies may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with otherprofessionals.
NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Accountant 4 (FIP023; Pay Grade L)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and three (3) years of professional accounting job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Accountant 3 (FIP022) or position equivalent.
Accountant Supervisor (FIP024; Pay Grade L)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and four (4) years of professional accounting job-related experience, which includes one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Accountant 4 (FIP023) or position equivalent.
