This position provides friendly and knowledgeable customer service throughout the store, assists customers with products and projects, operates the point-of-sale system, maintains departments, stocks merchandise, and supports daily store operations.Ace Associates may work in different areas of the store throughout their shift based on customer needs and the needs of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & SalesProactively greet and engage customers.Listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.Help customers locate products throughout the store.Provide helpful product information and basic guidance when assisting customers.Support product lookups and special orders as assigned.Create a friendly, helpful, and welcoming experience for every customer.Sales Floor & Store ReadinessMaintain clean, stocked, organized, and customer-ready departments.Assist with freight, stocking, recovery, and merchandising as assigned.Keep shelves, displays, and work areas neat and organized.Assist with seasonal changes, promotions, and special projects.Help maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store.Cashier & Front-End ResponsibilitiesGreet customers promptly and provide a friendly checkout experience.Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.Process cash, credit/debit, and other transactions according to company procedures.Maintain register accuracy and transaction integrity.Follow all cash-handling and front-end procedures.Assist with returns, exchanges, and other customer transactions according to company policy.Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and customer-ready.Assist with front-end duties and customer needs as directed.Team & Operational SupportWork cooperatively with Team Leads, Assistant Store Managers, and other associates.Communicate customer needs, product concerns, and operational issues to leadership.Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.Be willing to assist in different areas of the store as business needs change.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.Previous retail, customer service, sales, or cash-handling experience is a plus.Hardware or home-improvement experience is helpful but not required.Willingness and ability to learn about products, services, and store systems.Behavioral ExpectationsFriendly, helpful, and customer-focused.Proactive and willing to assist wherever needed.Calm, patient, and accurate when handling transactions and customer questions.Reliable, dependable, and professional.Communicates clearly and follows through on responsibilities.Works well as part of a team.Demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow.Technology & SystemsAbility to learn and use the store's POS and other computer systems.Ability to perform product lookups, process transactions, and assist with orders using store technology.Ability to learn and follow established procedures for register operation and transaction processing.Schedule & AvailabilityFlexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to work a combination of sales floor and cashier responsibilities as scheduled.Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.Success in This Role Looks LikeCustomers feel welcomed, valued, and helped.Customers receive knowledgeable and friendly assistance throughout the store.Checkout transactions are fast, accurate, and handled according to company procedures.Registers and front-end areas remain organized and customer-ready.Sales floor departments remain clean, stocked, organized, and ready for customers.The associate works as a dependable member of the team and willingly helps wherever needed.Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.About Soelbergs Ace HardwareSoelbergs Ace Hardware is a locally operated hardware store serving the Grantsville, Utah community.
