Position Overview: Glenwood City School District is seeking a collaborative, knowledgeable, and student-centered Early Literacy Coach to support educators and administrators in strengthening early literacy instruction and systems in grades 5K-3 with a total of 168 students. This half-time position serves as a non-evaluative instructional leader focused on improving literacy outcomes through coaching, professional learning, data analysis, and implementation of evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading and Wisconsin Act 20 requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Instructional Coaching & Teacher Support.
  • Professional Learning & Collaboration.
  • Assessment & Literacy Systems.
  • Leadership & DPI Grant Responsibilities.
  • Support implementation of Wisconsin Act 20 literacy requirements.
  • Participate in DPI-required professional learning and coaching network activities.
  • Maintain documentation aligned with DPI grant expectations and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid Wisconsin Teaching License required.
  • Reading Teacher (316) or Reading Specialist licensure preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy instruction.
  • Experience in elementary literacy instruction and intervention systems preferred.
  • Experience coaching educators or facilitating professional learning preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience analyzing literacy assessment and progress-monitoring data preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary and benefits will be determined according to District guidelines and applicable agreements.

You'll Work Closely With: The Early Literacy Coach will work closely with classroom teachers, interventionists, special education staff, and school leadership to strengthen Tier 1 instruction, intervention systems, and equitable literacy practices while building staff capacity to sustain continuous improvement.
