Position Overview

The Norm Brodsky College of Business at Rider University invites applications for an Acting Assistant Professor of Management position beginning January 2027. This is a one year appointment, with a 4/4 teaching load, service expectations, and opportunities for support of research activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach business courses in the Management & Leadership and/or Human Resource Management undergraduate programs, and Organizational Behavior at the graduate level.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students, guiding academic progress and career preparation.
• Engage in departmental, college, and university service activities that contribute to the broader mission and values of Rider University.
• Contribute to curriculum development and innovation in Management, incorporating experiential learning and technology where appropriate.
• Assist with building and maintaining relationships with a network of industry professionals.
• Engage in scholarly research in management, organizational behavior, or related fields.

Appointment Details

• Teaching Load: 4 courses per semester (4-4)
• Opportunity to apply for fellowships and conference travel to support research.
• While this appointment is term-limited to one calendar year, there may be additional hiring needs in the future; outstanding candidates may be considered for future appointments that may arise, including tenure-track and non-tenure track positions.
• The faculty contract is a 10-month contract (September 1-June 30). This appointment would be for the Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 semesters, running from January-June 2027, and from September-December 2027.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• ABD or PhD in Management, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and student engagement.
• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Experience advising students or mentoring emerging professionals in business and management.
• Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology-enhanced learning.
• Relevant professional experience in business and industry.
