Location: Georgia Tech Bookstore
Job Type: Contractor
Pay: $19-$22 per hour (rate based on market and relevant experience)
Expected Hours: Weekend, and Flexible Weekday
Job Overview:
Winston Retail is seeking a Visual Merchandiser & Selling Specialist who will be responsible for creating an engaging and visually compelling activewear shopping experience within a campus bookstore. This role drives sales through exceptional product merchandising, customer engagement, and brand presentation while ensuring apparel and game day merchandise are displayed to maximize excitement and revenue. The ideal candidate is passionate about retail, fashion, and sports culture, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is available to support key campus events and game day coverage, which is an essential requirement of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Execute visual merchandising standards and maintain impactful activewear and fan apparel displays
- Deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales through product knowledge and styling recommendations
- Communicate effectively with team members and store management regarding merchandising needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in different store settings
- Manage monthly scheduling to ensure store visits and merchandising deliverables are completed by assigned deadlines, demonstrating strong time management and accountability
- Submit store visit reports, including taking before and after photos and writing feedback, using our Winston App on a smart device
- Smartphones are required for reporting:
- IOS: Use an iPhone 11 or newer
- Android: Use a 2020 or newer device with an OS no more than four versions behind the latest
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for the entire shift
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in apparel merchandising or a related field is preferred
- High-energy team player with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working with mannequins (assembling, updating, and styling)
- A portfolio of work is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with planograms and visual directives is essential
- A keen eye for detail and creativity in presenting apparel displays
