Activision is looking for talented and innovative students to join our teams for summer 2027. All interns will receive a meaningful project and an unparalleled experience. We’ll provide the tools and resources you need to learn. The challenging and creative work you do throughout your internship will directly impact the team you are contributing to.
All internships will be conducted in-person. Hosting managers will determine when and how often interns work in the office. All interns will have the option to opt into relocation services (flights, trains, or car mileage reimbursement). Additionally, all interns will be provided with a living stipend to subsidize housing, utility, commuting, and miscellaneous costs.
Program Requirements
Currently enrolled in amaster’s or PhD degree program and graduating December 2027 – June 2028
Available to participate in a 12-week internship starting in mid-May or mid-June
Currently residing in the US or open to relocating oneself to the US
Exhibits learning agility; has the ability to think differently, and/or grasp and apply new skills and concepts
Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner
Works well with others and contributes to team tasks

Internship Opportunities
User Research Data Analyst Intern:
Partner with User Research study leads and game developmentteams to turn play test telemetry and research data into actionable insights. Query, join, validate, andsummarize play test datasets using SQL, working across gameplay events and common player, session,match, and study identifiers. Learn and navigate game telemetry schemas and data structures to identifythe appropriate events, fields, and metrics for specific research and design questions. Build and maintainclear, interactive visualizations and dashboards using JavaScript and Apache ECharts to help researchersand designers explore playerbehavior, progression, performance, and other study-relevant measures.Translate questions from designers and study leads into well-defined analyses, conduct ad-hocinvestigations, perform data-quality checks, and clearly communicate what the data does and does notsupport. Support the integration of behavioral telemetry with survey and other research data, contributecharts and analytical summaries to research reports, and help improve reusable queries, metrics, andvisualization workflows for future play tests. Get on-the-job training and mentoring from industry expertsin user research, game analytics, and data visualization while helping the player voice inform gamedevelopment decisions.

Requirements:
Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, aggregations, filtering, CTEs, and the ability to queryand troubleshoot structured datasets
Experience with JavaScript for data visualization; familiarity with Apache ECharts (or acomparable visualization library) is strongly preferred
Ability to understand and work with game telemetry or similarly event-based data, includingconcepts such as events, timestamps, player IDs, sessions, matches, and nested or relationaldata structures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data quality, metric definition,edge cases, and accurate interpretation of results
Ability to translate ambiguous research or game-design questions into concrete data questions,appropriate metrics, and clear analytical outputs
Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain findings andlimitations to researchers, designers, and other non-technical partners
Adaptable and quick learner who enjoys investigating unfamiliar datasets and tackling a varietyof analytical questions
Passion for video games and familiarity with a broad variety of game genres; experience withActivision titles is a plus
Experience with Python, R, notebooks, version control, or additional BI/data-visualization tools isa plus; relevant coursework or personal/academic projects are welcome

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $20.00 - $50.00 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
