Activities Assistant

SMP Health is seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team at St. Catherine North. In this role, you will help plan and lead activities that promote social engagement, physical wellness, and quality of life for residents in our long-term care community.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, encouraging participation, and creating meaningful experiences for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading resident activities and events
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities
• Support recreational, social, spiritual, and wellness programming
• Help transport residents to and from activities as needed
• Assist with decorating and preparing activity spaces
• Build positive relationships with residents and families
• Maintain activity calendars, supplies, and participation records
• Support special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings
• Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, customer service, or related fields preferred
• Friendly, outgoing, and compassionate personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Creative, organized, and dependable
• Experience working with older adults is a plus

Pay & Benefits

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Schedule

• Part-time position
• Every other weekend
• Day shift hours (9:00am - 5:30pm)
