Come join us at Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens!  A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1971.   We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. 

We are seeking to fill the position of Activities Assistant - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader.

• Part-Time Shifts Available:  2 hours daily on Mon - Fri or 3 hours on Saturday and Sunday. 
• Hourly Pay range = $18.60 to $20.44 based on experience.
• Recreational and OT students are encouraged to apply. 

Activities - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader Qualifications:

• Previous recreation / activities experience with a geriatric population preferred. 
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prompt, professional, reliable and a team player.
• Able to read, write and speak the English language.
• Able to push wheelchairs.
• Able to be around animals (pets).
• Ability to work with dementia population.
• MDS knowledge a plus. 

Activities - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader Job Summary:

• Lead a program of arts, crafts, and recreation.
• Introduce new projects and activities and encourages resident involvement.
• Assist with resident transport and attend to resident needs during entertainment or outside programs.
• Assure proper care, use, storage and protection of tools and equipment.
• Complete activity assessments.
• Maintain daily attendance/participation of residents.
• Attend recommended workshops, in-services, meetings.
