    Role Description The Activities Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at Villa Maria Nursing Center in Miami, FL. This role supports the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and leading individual and group recreational, social, and wellness programs for residents. Day-to-day tasks include setting up activity areas, assisting residents in participating in events, documenting attendance and resident responses, and helping adapt activities to residents’ abilities and preferences. The Activities Assistant collaborates with nursing and care teams to ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and aligned with care plans, and may also help with special events, family programs, and holiday celebrations.

    Qualifications

    *MUST have a current CNA Certification

    • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and active listening with residents, families, and colleagues.
    • \n
    • Customer Service skills to provide respectful, patient, and supportive assistance to residents and visitors.
    • \n
    • Recreation skills to help plan, lead, and adapt group and individual activities such as games, crafts, music, and outings.
    • \n
    • Elder Care skills, including sensitivity to aging-related needs, mobility limitations, and cognitive changes.
    • \n
    • Training skills to help orient new residents to activities, support volunteers, and follow guidance from the Activities Director.
    • \n
    • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in long-term care, assisted living, or community recreation is preferred.
    • \n
    • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with light physical tasks throughout the shift; capability to safely support residents during activities.
    • \n
    • Organizational and time-management skills, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • \n
    • Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support resident activities.
