Position Summary
 
Under the administrative direction and supervision of management the Activities Coordinator plans, develops, implements, and oversees recreational therapy services for program participants.
 
How You’ll Make an Impact
 

  • Evaluate  and implement creative, individualized, and therapeutic activities for participants' care plans.
  • Conducts initial assessments and schedule reassessment of all participants.
  • Trains staff on new recreational therapy activities and programs.
  • Plans and offers varied monthly programs and uses group and individual-oriented interventions to maximize participants' cognitive and functional abilities.
  • Offers therapeutic activities daily for participants with special needs.
  • Documents participant involvement in activities and revises care plans as needed.
  • Actively participates in team discussions offering feedback, ideas, and suggestions daily and in staff meetings.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and coordinate volunteer activities at the center.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
 
 
 
 
 
What You’ll Bring
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
  • BA degree in therapeutic recreation or related field required or 1-3 years of professional work experience with a minimum of one year experience working with the frail and elderly.
  • Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

Employment Requirements
 
 
At MorseLife, the safety and well-being of our residents, patients, employees, and visitors are our top priorities. As part of our pre-employment process, all offers of employment are contingent upon successfully completing:
  • A 10-panel pre-employment drug screening.
  • A Level 2 background screening in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
  • A post-offer physical examination.
  • A QuantiFERON-TB Gold blood test (or other approved tuberculosis screening, as applicable.
