Activities/Program Director, Assisted Living

The Activities/Program Director provides leadership in the Programming Department and organizes and implements activities designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. The resident program is intended to fulfill basic psychological, intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs while promoting self-esteem in a caring, nurturing environment. Takes the lead in the development and implementation of an innovative daily activity plan for residentsProduces a quality monthly newsletter and calendar and daily activity calendarLeads and supervises the implementation of one-on-ones, small group and large group activities according to the programming scheduleInitiates and maintains vendor relationships, including scheduling, execution and administration of quality programmingLeads hiring, payroll processing, and scheduling for a small concierge teamEstablishes and maintains collaborative associate relationshipsSupports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groupsFacilitates Resident and Family interactions via video chats or in-person visits, as health & safety procedures allowSupervises coordination of Holiday and Birthday CelebrationsDemonstrates knowledge about residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues. Must be qualified by experience and training to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals.Proficiency in computer applications, including MicroSoft OfficeStrong verbal and written communication skillsBasic knowledge of social mediaPrior experience managing a small team preferredTraining and knowledge in recreational activities a plusTraining and knowledge of Alzheimer's and related dementias a plusExperience providing transportation for community residents a plus
