Activities Director - Assisted Living

Senior Living | Full-time

Location: Grove Pointe Assisted Living - Masonic Homes Kentucky | Louisville, KY

Schedule: Primarily weekdays with some evenings and weekends based on resident programming

What you'll do

  • plan, develop and lead engaging recreational, educational and social programs for Assisted Living residents
  • facilitate one-on-one, small group and large group activities that promote wellness, independence and social connection
  • develop and maintain a monthly calendar of events designed to meet residents' interests and abilities
  • coordinate entertainers, volunteers and community partners to enhance programming
  • transport residents to off-campus outings and community events as needed
  • prepare activity areas, supplies and equipment before programs and ensure spaces are clean and organized afterward
  • document resident participation and evaluate program effectiveness
  • collaborate with dining and other departments to support successful resident events
  • create newsletters, bulletin boards, displays and other communication materials that promote resident engagement
  • build meaningful relationships with residents while creating an environment that is welcoming, engaging and fun

What you'll bring

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in long-term care, Assisted Living, senior living or recreation programming preferred
  • Activity Director Certification preferred but not required
  • creativity, enthusiasm and a passion for enriching the lives of older adults
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to organize multiple events and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • valid driver's license preferred for resident transportation and community outings
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for activity setup and resident outings
  • commitment to providing exceptional resident experiences
