The Activity Aide plays an important role in enhancing the quality of life of our residents by creating meaningful opportunities for engagement, socialization, recreation, and personal fulfillment. Working alongside our interdisciplinary clinical team, the Activity Aide helps support residents' physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being through individualized and group activities.
No prior activity experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, enjoys working with older adults, and is passionate about helping others.
Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily activity programs designed to meet residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
Facilitate group activities, games, crafts, exercise programs, special events, and community outings.
Encourage resident participation while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.
Provide one-on-one visits and individualized engagement for residents who are unable or choose not to participate in group activities.
Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members.
Transport residents safely to and from activities and events within the facility.
Assist with decorating and preparing for holidays, special occasions, and community celebrations.
Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and program areas in a safe and organized manner.
Observe residents during activities and communicate relevant information to nursing staff and members of the clinical team.
Document resident participation and activity attendance as required.
Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, and other departments to support person-centered care.
Support residents' emotional well-being by fostering meaningful connections, purpose, and enjoyment throughout the day.
Follow all facility policies, infection control procedures, safety standards, and resident rights regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to assist residents with mobility during activities and events.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors during scheduled programs and outings.
