Activity Assistant
Long Term Care
Part Time | Day Shift | 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Required to work 11 am - 7 pm, once per month.
Pay: $12.50/hour

What You'll Do:
As an Activity Assistant, you will help create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment for residents by assisting with daily activities, social programs, crafts, events, and outings. You will encourage resident participation while supporting their emotional, spiritual, recreational, and social well-being.
- Assist with planning, implementing, and leading daily activities and events for residents.
- Encourage participation in group programs, hobbies, crafts, outings, and religious activities.
- Provide one-on-one engagement and support to residents, including bedridden residents when needed.
- Help transport residents to activities, appointments, and field trips, including driving the activities bus as needed.
- Maintain activity schedules, supplies, and program resources.
- Observe and report changes in resident conditions to nursing staff promptly.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to support individualized care and engagement.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and follow all safety, emergency, and reporting procedures.
Activity Assistant Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills required, with the ability to learn new software applications as needed.
- One to two years of experience in a long-term care setting preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, physicians, direct care staff, supervisors, managers, and senior leadership.
- Ability to understand directions, respond promptly to inquiries, and communicate professionally and compassionately.
