Join our team as an Activities Specialist and play a vital role in enhancing the mental, physical, social, and cognitive well-being of residents in our inpatient and residential programs. As a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, you will develop and lead engaging, age-appropriate therapeutic activities that support residents in achieving their treatment goals while fostering a positive and enriching environment.
What Youll Do
As an Activities Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing therapeutic recreational programs that promote resident growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate daily therapeutic and recreational activities for residents of various ages.
Create activity plans that support treatment goals and individual resident needs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure quality resident care.
Train Residential Care Associates on recreational activity implementation.
Maintain activity schedules and ensure programming is delivered consistently.
Complete accurate and timely documentation, including same-day service notes.
Track supplies and communicate program needs to leadership.
Assist with treatment plan goals as appropriate.
Support resident care needs, including participation in restraint and seclusion procedures when required.
Attend team meetings and maintain open communication with staff and leadership.
Fulfill mandated reporting requirements and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of one (1) year of experience planning and implementing recreational activities in a healthcare setting.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage behaviors effectively in a group setting.
Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to work with individuals across all age groups.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Driver Requirements
Candidates who may operate company vehicles must possess:
A valid drivers license.
An acceptable driving record in accordance with organizational policies.
No moving violations within the past three years preferred.
Ability to provide an annual certified driving record and comply with vehicle-use policies.
Physical Requirements
Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the day.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed.
Frequent computer use and documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Position requires 100% on-site presence.
