The Actuarial Analyst supports pricing, portfolio management, and regulatory filing activities across multiple products and lines of business. This entry-level role applies analytical and actuarial techniques to evaluate profitability, develop and maintain pricing tools, communicate results, and support business recommendations. The Actuarial Analyst works closely with underwriting, claims, and other business partners while building familiarity with company operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, testing, maintenance, and documentation of pricing tools used to price business accurately and effectively.
- Assist with portfolio analyses, including reviews of composition, premium, retention, loss and profitability metrics across products and lines of business.
- Compile rate, retention, and other performance metrics; summarize results and support the communication of data-driven insights to business partners and management.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of rating manuals, rate filings, and supporting actuarial documentation for applicable lines of business.
- Use actuarial tools, data, and modeling software to support pricing, valuation, and risk-management analyses.
- Participate in discussions with underwriting and claims personnel regarding profitability, business performance, and strategic direction.
- Support the development of business recommendations and analyses of pricing and portfolio strategies.
- Research industry trends and assess potential implications for pricing processes and portfolio performance.
- Develop familiarity with company operations, insurance products, systems, and actuarial methodologies.
- Manage assigned work accurately and on time while maintaining sound judgment, attention to detail, and appropriate documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, data science, finance, or a related quantitative field.
- Commitment to pursuing the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation, with progress toward actuarial examinations preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant professional, internship, academic, or analytical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with close attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate analytical results clearly in writing and verbally to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, work independently with direction, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or coursework related to Property and Casualty insurance, actuarial science, pricing, underwriting, claims, or insurance operations.
- Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Power BI, or comparable analytical and data-visualization tools.
- Knowledge of current insurance trends and Property and Casualty insurance operations.

Compensation & Benefits
The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $85,000 - $125,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
