    Description

    Overview:

    Talcott needs a leader with an ownership mentality to support end-to-end risk management of its businesses. This associate will need to embody the following to achieve this.

    Ability to navigate a matrix organization of leaders and staffAccountability for the accurate creation of risk management deliverablesIdentifying and seizing upon value creation opportunities as they ariseEnsuring business partners receive appropriate education and training to fulfill their responsibilitiesAdept communication with all business partners to ensure understanding of risk management's needsFlexibility as Talcott achieves its growth strategyA willingness to exert the discretionary effort necessary to deliver insightful results

    Responsibilities:

    Enterprise Risk Management

    Ensure the offshore entities' holistic risk management, inclusive of transaction and key initiative risk oversight, are in compliance with the company's risk appetite statement and risk policiesMonitor and analyze risk exposuresLead risk analysis of in-force and transaction initiativesLead review of regulatory reporting deliverables such as CISSA, the BSCR year-end filing, and other regulatory deliverablesEnsure appropriate offshore governance bodies are informed of key risk decisionsAssist in preparation for regular meetings with regulators

    Insurance Risk Management

    Help oversee the insurance risk framework, which may require extensive research of insurance riskHelp calculate, report, and analyze insurance risk exposures

    Qualifications:

    At least 8 years of full-time long-term (re)insurance actuarial experienceCompletion of all FSA requirements or equivalent life and annuity actuarial organization Fellowship qualificationDesire to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all products assumed in transactions, all reinsurance structures utilized, and all deal risks/mitigantsWillingness to learn risk management and actuarial software necessary to inform analysisStrong effective communication, project management, and leadership skillsWillingness to exhibit curiosity towards novel work tasksAbility to use basic productivity software like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
