Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Acute Care Assistant provides compassionate patient care and clinical support to promote the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients throughout their care experience. This position works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support the delivery of quality patient care by assisting with routine clinical and unit support activities. The ACA contributes to a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • High School graduate or GED certificate required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience as a Nurse Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Ability to accurately document patient care activities in the electronic health record.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and respond effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

  • Ability to safely assist with patient mobility and transfers using Safe Patient Handling equipment and techniques.

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency using standard office and clinical technology.
