    Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
    Neuro Hospitalist – Inpatient Neurology
    Arlington, Texas | Full-Time | 7-On / 7-Off Schedule

    Compensation:
    $140,000 – $200,000+ annually depending on neuro experience, inpatient background, and overall fit

    Schedule:
    7 Days On / 7 Days Off
    12-Hour Shifts
    Inpatient Hospital-Based Position

    Overview

    An established and rapidly growing inpatient neurology program in the Arlington, Texas area is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Neuro Hospitalist team.

    This position focuses on high-acuity inpatient neurological care within a collaborative stroke and neuroscience environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Neuro ICU, Stroke, Neurosurgery, Neurocritical Care, Hospital Medicine, or other inpatient neurology-focused settings.

    The practice is seeking clinically strong providers who are comfortable managing complex neurological patients in a fast-paced hospital environment while working closely with neurologists, hospitalists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide comprehensive inpatient management for acute neurology and stroke patients

    Perform detailed neurological assessments, daily rounding, admissions, consults, and discharge planning

    Participate in stroke response and rapid neurological evaluations

    Manage neurological conditions including:

    • Acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
    • Seizures and status epilepticus
    • Encephalopathy
    • Neurotrauma
    • Neuromuscular disorders
    • Altered mental status
    • Post-operative neurosurgical patients

    Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, neurosurgeons, therapists, nursing staff, and case management teams

    Interpret diagnostic testing and monitor patient progress within the inpatient setting

    Document accurately within the electronic medical record system

    Support evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, and patient safety programs

    Requirements

    Required:

    • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification OR Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification
    • Active Texas APRN or PA license (or eligibility)
    • DEA license or eligibility
    • Current BLS certification
    • Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care experience

    Strongly Preferred:

    • Neuro ICU experience
    • Stroke or Neurocritical Care background
    • Inpatient Neurology or Neuro Hospitalist experience
    • Neurosurgery ICU experience
    • Hospitalist medicine background with neurological patient management
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
    • ENLS or other neuro-focused certifications

    Ideal Candidate

    The ideal provider is confident, collaborative, and highly comfortable in high-acuity inpatient environments. Candidates with prior exposure to comprehensive stroke programs, Neuro ICU units, or hospital-based neurology services are especially encouraged to apply.
