The Department of Neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing Neuroscience Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team.
This position provides care for patients on the inpatient Neurology and Stroke services, including med-surg and step-down units, as well as patients requiring emergent stroke evaluation and management.
Position Overview
The Neuroscience APP is an integral member of a highly specialized multidisciplinary team, practicing with a high degree of autonomy in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for patients with acute neurological and cerebrovascular disorders.
APPs collaborate closely with attending physicians, trainees, nurses, therapists, social workers, and case management teams to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

This is an opportunity to develop expertise in both stroke and general neurology within a nationally recognized neuroscience program and Philadelphia\'s first Comprehensive Stroke Center. APPs work alongside vascular neurologists, neurohospitalists, and other neuroscience specialists while contributing to patient care, education, research, quality improvement, and innovation.
Neuroscience experience is preferred but not required.
Our structured onboarding and mentorship program supports APPs transitioning from other acute care specialties and provides progressive development of neuroscience-specific knowledge and skills.
