    Acute Care Physical Therapist Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for acute-care patients, including those with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, medical/surgical, and trauma-related conditions.
    • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on restoring function, mobility, and independence.
    • Provide interventions including therapeutic exercise, functional mobility training, gait training, balance activities, and patient/caregiver education.
    • Document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, case managers, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, and other members of the care team.
    • Collaborate on discharge planning, including recommending appropriate next levels of care and durable medical equipment.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making.
    • Maintain compliance with departmental safety procedures, infection prevention practices, and quality standards.
    • Support mentorship, onboarding, and collaboration with therapy assistants and students as applicable.

    Requirements:

    • Required BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Required PT (Physical Therapy)
    • Or PT (Physical Therapy) Eligible to obtain
    • Or PT (Physical Therapy) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
    • Required Bachelor's Physical Therapy
    • Preferred 1 year Physical Therapist

    Location: Morton Plant - Clearwater, FLStatus: Full Time, Exempt: NoShift Hours: 40 hours per week/Days

    Weekend Work: Occasional
