Full-Time Med/Surg & Emergency Department RN

Connected Health Care is partnering with a respected healthcare facility within travel distance of Topeka, Kansas to recruit an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time opportunity supporting both the Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) and Emergency Department (ED).

Position Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg & Emergency Department
• Location: Within travel distance of Topeka, Kansas
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Provide direct nursing care to patients in both the Med/Surg unit and Emergency Department
• Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and develop individualized plans of care
• Care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions
• Assist with emergency assessments, stabilization, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of ED patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other interventions as ordered
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, diagnostic findings, and patient responses to treatment
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and quality-care standards
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the patient experience

Education & Certification Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program
• Active Kansas RN license or qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred or required based on department guidelines
• PALS, TNCC, or other emergency nursing certifications are highly valued
• Previous Med/Surg, Emergency Department, Acute Care, or Critical Access Hospital experience strongly preferred
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively and confidently in urgent and rapidly changing clinical situations
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills
