Acute Care Speech Therapist

Morton Plant Hospital, part of the BayCare Health System, is seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our acute care rehabilitation team. This role provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to adult patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders resulting from stroke, neurological conditions, trauma, or other medical complexities.

Acute Care Speech Therapist Pool Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing impairments in an acute care setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to discharge planning.

Requirements:

• CCC-SLP (Speech Language Pathology)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Speech Therapy License
• Required Master's Speech Therapy
• 1 year Clinical Related is preferred
