Job Description
Evaluates administers and directs the administration of therapeutic procedures utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner. Establishes goals of occupational therapy and reassesses this patients progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation. Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individuals speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools. Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
Education
Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school.
Experience
One year prior experience preferred. New graduates acceptable.
Licenses/Certifications
Occupational Therapist South Carolina License. AHA BLS or equivalent certification required.
Additional Job Description
Education A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current South Carolina licensure and NBCOT certification required. Current American Heart Association AHA Basic Life Support BLS certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. New graduates or less than 1-year applicable experience.
