Winter Haven Hospital, part of the BayCare Health System, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Pool PRN to join our Acute Therapy Service team. This role involves providing inpatient speech therapy services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting. Winter Haven Hospital is designated as a Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus and accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Specialty units and programs also include cardiovascular ICU.
Acute Speech Therapist Pool PRN Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities. • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals. • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care. • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery. • Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning. • Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology • Florida State License in Speech-Language Pathology • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification • 1 year of clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting • Experience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia management
Preferred:
• 1 year of clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care setting • Experience with modified barium swallow studies and dysphagia management
