Job Summary

Bowen Business Solutions LLC is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and safety-minded ADA Drivers to transport passengers within the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) regional area. In this role, you will play a vital part in our transit operations by providing safe, reliable, and accessible paratransit services in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ideal candidate must maintain the highest standards of safety, customer care, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicles safely across designated routes within the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities during boarding and exiting, ensuring all specialized equipment (e.g., wheelchair lifts, securement tie-downs) is operated safely according to ADA guidelines.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure its mechanical integrity, proper fluid levels, cleanliness, and safety equipment compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating politely, staying calm, and safely navigating heavy traffic environments.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors regarding route updates, delays, or passenger incidents.
  • Maintain precise digital logs of mileage, passenger boarding, and routine maintenance checklists.

 

 

Mandatory Qualifications & Screening Requirements

To protect our passengers and remain compliant with state and federal regulations, all applicants must meet the following baseline criteria:

  • Background Screening: Must successfully pass a comprehensive federal and state criminal background investigation.
  • Substance Testing: Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and remain subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR): Must provide a clean driving record with minimal points and absolutely no history of DUI/DWI convictions.
  • Licensing: Possession of a valid driver's license matching the target vehicle weight class (Class C or CDL equivalent based on final fleet placement).

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience operating paratransit vehicles, shuttle buses, or emergency medical transport units.
  • Previous training in defensive driving techniques, CPR, or passenger assistance safety.
  • Excellent geographic familiarity with major routes and neighborhoods across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
