Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Three Shifts Per Week

Position Overview Mercy Hospital Ada is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical (2N) team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. This position offers the opportunity to develop strong clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population in an acute care setting. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.
Medical Surgical RN Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure patient rights, safety, and confidentiality are maintained
- Delegate and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments and care plans

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program (Associate Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the state of practice and/or compact licensure as required and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications: Completion of hospital-required nursing competencies, mandatory education requirements, and relevant certifications (BLS,, etc.) within required timeframes.

About Company
Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 185 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who wanted to help the poor women and children of Dublin. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill her dreams. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to poor women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, the first religious order not bound to the rules of the cloister, whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. By the time Catherine died in 1841, there were convents in Ireland and England, and in 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1871, they traveled to St. Louis and from there throughout the Midwest, beginning what would, today be known as Mercy.
