Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the Adapted Physical Education teacher will support students and work collaboratively and independently with all constituents in a diverse environment committed to equity and students' social emotional wellness. They will provide adapted physical education services (direct and/or consult), including assessments, program development and direct instruction to students enrolled in Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD).

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

A valid teaching credential authorizing teaching Adaptive Physical Education at the secondary level. CLAD/English Language Learner certification or equivalent is required. Will provide Adaptive PE services to all sites of the Culver City Unified School District, grade levels TK - 12. Must have use of a vehicle to visit from site to site and possibly transport equipment/materials. Secondary sites have a PE room.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.

  • Copy of Transcript (Unofficial are accepted, if selected then official sealed transcripts will need to be provided.)
  • Credential Copy
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three letters written within the last two years)
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST, CSET, Praxis, etc.)
