Overview

The Addictions Therapist will work within our residential and outpatient addictions, mental health, and criminogenic treatment programming with a population who are serving a criminal justice sentence.

We have opened our brand new expansion to our facility!! This expansion brings 170 new beds for women, including 24 IRT, 12 STIRT, and 12 RDDT, and brand new classrooms, recreation, and group areas!

Larimer County Community Corrections is an approved Colorado Health Service Corps (CHSC) site. As such, substance use disorder treatment clinicians can apply for loan repayment incentives offered through the CHSC. Responsibilities

What youll be doing:

  • Collaborating with the treatment team to provide individual and group therapy sessions for participants in residential substance use and aftercare programs.
  • Facilitating a range of client-centered, gender-responsive groups focused on substance abuse, mental health, trauma-informed care, cognitive restructuring, and life skills development.
  • Conducting substance abuse and/or mental health evaluations to assess client needs.
  • Providing individual and relational therapy when appropriate to support client progress.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date client documentation and record-keeping.

Depending on qualifications this position may be hired as Correctional Addictions Therapist I or II.

Correctional Addictions Therapist I

  • A Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, in a behavioral health field, as defined by the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Six (6) months of experience providing substance abuse treatment required, preferably in criminal justice or related area.
  • A certified Addictions Specialist (CAS), is required. A Masters degree in a related field and experience providing substance use treatment services may substitute for CAS.
  • Possession of a valid Drivers License by date of hire is required.
  • Possession of Adult First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications within six (6) months of hire, is required.

Correctional Addictions Therapist II

  • A masters degree in a license-eligible behavioral health field as defined by the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) required.
  • One (1) year of experience providing substance abuse and mental health treatment is required, preferably in criminal justice or related area.
  • A certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) is required.
  • Possession of a valid Drivers License by date of hire is required.
  • Possession of Adult First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications within six (6) months of hire, is required.

Working with numerous stakeholders in the criminal justice system. Candidates may be hired as an Addictions Therapist I or Addictions Therapist II based on qualifications. In order to qualify for the level II, candidates will need to have a Masters Degree in a license-eligible behavioral health field as defined by the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), one year of experience providing substance abuse and mental health treatment, and either Certified Addictions Specialist (CAS) or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) certification.
