Job Story

The NIAR Additive Manufacturing lab is looking for a student assistant who can work 3rd shift to operate equipment.

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties

Main job duties would include operating/monitoring Additive Manufacturing equipment, performing maintenance, and calibrating the machines. Keeping up with a schedule of jobs to be run on multiple machines, loading and unloading metallic powders, and completing the completed jobs from the machines safely and in a timely manner. Storage and organization of materials, and being diligent in documentation and reporting, are very important.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Information

Job location can currently be located at the Park City facility, the John Bardo Center, or the NIAR main building. Reliable transportation is required

Looking for students able to work 3rd shift (10 pm - 6 am) and/or weekend hours.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.

Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
