Badger State Staffing is seeking a motivated and hands-on Additive Manufacturing Technician to support a 3D printing and rapid prototyping department for an organization based in Appleton. This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about technology, engineering, design, and continuous learning. In this role, you will assist with printer operation, model preparation, post-processing, equipment maintenance, and innovation projects that help accelerate product development and experimentation.
Primary Duties:
Operate and monitor a variety of 3D printers and additive manufacturing equipment
Prepare, slice, and organize print files using CAD and slicing software
Perform post-processing activities, including support removal, sanding, finishing, assembly, and quality inspection
Troubleshoot basic printing issues and escalate complex technical problems as needed
Assist in evaluating new materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes
Support rapid prototyping efforts for research, development, and proof-of-concept projects
Follow safety procedures and maintain and organize laboratory environment
Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation
Schedule: This part-time role offers a flexible 10 to 20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated curiosity for emerging technologies and innovation
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, SLS, or resin-based systems
Exposure to CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar tools
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform hands-on work in a workshop or laboratory environment
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
