Position Summary - The Department of History at SUNY Cortland is accepting applications to fill part-time adjunct faculty openings for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a pool posting and applicants will be reviewed only when there is a need to fill a position.

Major Responsibilities - A classroom based 3 credit hour course pays $5500 per class. The department typically hires for the courses/subject areas listed below but this list is not all inclusive. Other courses/subject areas may become available within the department. Illustrative needs include: undergraduate and graduate classes in history and adolescence education – social studies.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships - Reports to the chair of the History Department.
Required Qualifications - Appropriate level of experience and/or Master's degree.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's Degree in history and/or experience teaching adolescent social studies as appropriate to the course(s) to be taught.
