Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Criminal Justice Applicant Pool: Reporting Structure: Department Chair, Criminal Justice Division, College of Arts and Humanities
Job Summary: Adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate Criminal Justice courses in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats. Candidates must demonstrate subject-matter expertise, effective teaching practices, and a commitment to student success.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Teach assigned Criminal Justice courses • Prepare syllabi and course materials aligned with departmental standards • Utilize the institutions Learning Management System • Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance • Provide timely feedback and hold required office hours • Comply with university policies and academic integrity standards
Education and Experience: • Masters degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field • Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Criminal Justice • College-level teaching experience or relevant professional experience in the field
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education: • Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline • Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses • Expertise in areas such as Criminology, Corrections, Policing, Criminal Law, Research Methods, Juvenile Justice, or Criminal Justice Reform
Physical Requirements: • Working environment is a normal business office setting. • Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity. • Must be mobile throughout the campus. • Typically the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work.
