Position Summary: The English Department houses the Literature, Writing, Language Arts, and Linguistics programs. Adjunct Faculty who teach will be assigned to courses based on their educational background and academic record. Adjunct faculty must be prepared to use WOU onl ine resources through the WOU Portal: WOU -assigned email address, Canvas, Wolfweb, etc. They are also expected to collaborate with the English Department Head and/or the First Year Writing Coordinator and/or Literature faculty regarding curriculum, academi c integrity, scheduling, and student and program success. Required Qualifications: Please ensure your application materials clearly demonstrate how you meet the following: For First Year Writing, a master's degree in Composition & Rhetoric, Writing Pedagogy, or very closely related field is required For all Literature courses, a PhD in Literature, Composition, or very closely related field, or terminal degree in Creative Writing is required. For all Linguistics courses a PhD in Linguistics or a very closely related field is required. 1-2 years experience in Teaching Literature, Writing, or Linguistics courses at a 4 -year university. Preference for applicants with significant experience teaching first generation students and those from traditionally underserved populations.
