Description
The Adjunct Faculty for the PN Program will be responsible for teaching nursing theory, skills and/or clinicals to a number of students related to their field/topic working alongside the primary instructor. Instructional material and an outline of the curriculum from the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health is provided to develop a curriculum from with the primary instructor. The material presented to students may be in combination of in-person and online.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Attends to the daily needs of the School of Allied Health nursing related programs.
Maintains professional responsibility and enhances professional development.
Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.
EDUCATION
Unencumbered RN License for the State of CT required.
Candidate must have either a bachelor degree or master degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Three (3) years or more of clinical nursing experience required.
One (1) or more years of teaching preferred (formal or informal).
Preferred one (1) year of long-term care setting but not required.
Possess strong computer skills including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to teach interactively and engage students whether online or in-person.
Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation and ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
Superior customer service skills and ability to work productively and maintain excellent relationships with instructors, hospital staff and students.
