    Sub department: Corrections Education

    Salary: $50 per hour

    The Adjunct Faculty - Forklift develops and conducts training sessions, ensuring compliance with industry standards while assessing trainee's skills and certifying qualified operators. The instructor also maintains accurate training records and fosters a safety-focused learning environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities: Adjunct Faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Adjunct Faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed. Adjunct Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Adjunct Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching discipline. Adjunct Faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.

    Dixon Correctional Institute
    Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women
    East Baton Rouge Parish Prison
    West Baton Rouge Parish Prison
    Louisiana State Police
    Pointe Coupee Parish Detention Center
    Other Correctional Facilities

    5% Other duties as assigned

    Required Education: Current Forklift Training Certification

    Required Experience: At least one (1) year of warehouse or related experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to learn and utilize technology in a fast-paced environment.
    • Possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Must be able to work independently.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including students, administrators, instructors, external agencies, business leaders, and the public.
