About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
OSUIT Workforce & Economic Development is seeking a highly skilled and industry-experienced HVAC Instructor to deliver a 10-week, non-credit Industrial HVAC Systems Technologies upskilling program. This course prepares incumbent technicians for work in mission-critical environments such as data centers, industrial facilities, and utility systems.
This position will lead hands-on, evening instruction focused on advanced HVAC system operation, controls, electrical integration, and energy-efficient practices.

Skills and Abilities:
Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction aligned with program curriculum.
Teach advanced HVAC concepts including:
Industrial cooling systems (chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units)
Advanced refrigeration and controls (VRF systems, automation)
Electrical systems and troubleshooting (motors, drives, PLC basics)
Airflow management and environmental controls
Energy efficiency and predictive maintenance strategies
Demonstrate and enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E safety practices, including PPE and lockout/tagout
Facilitate lab activities and real-world simulations
Assess learning through quizzes, skills demonstrations, and final competency evaluations.
Support learners in developing job-ready technical skills for mission-critical environments.
Communication Skills:
