Position Overview

This Adjunct Faculty member teaches Journalism courses.

Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes

What you will be doing

• Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
• Evaluates and advises students
• Participates in departmental and College affairs
• Develops curricula
• Recruits students
• Serves on committees
• Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

• Masters Degree in Journalism or Mass Communications from a regionally accredited institution; or Masters Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Journalism or Mass Communications from a regionally accredited institution
• Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
• Ability to function well in a technological environment
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
