Overview / Job Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty in Machining Technology will provide part-time instructional support in the machining fields, including manual and CNC machining processes. This position involves teaching theory and hands-on techniques to help students develop the skills necessary to excel in the machining industry.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Delivering lectures and hands-on instruction in machining technology courses.
- Assisting in curriculum development and updating course materials according to industry standards.
- Evaluating student performance, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring the proper use and maintenance of machining tools and equipment during lab sessions.
- Collaborating with full-time faculty and industry partners to maintain course relevance.
- Adhering to college policies and contributing to a positive learning environment.
Requirements
Education:
- Associates Degree or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution, preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Industry experience in machining technology, including CNC and manual machining, typically 4+ years, preferred.
- Prior teaching or training experience in technical or adult education, preferred.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, safety practices, and machine tool operation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency with computers and common software applications used in education.
