The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach a section of Psychopathology and Mental Health Sciences and Introduction to Counseling Skills on our Boston campus during Spring 2026. The courses meet on Mondays from 11am-145pm and on Wednesdays from 11am-145pm respectively. Psychopathology Course description This course provides a broad survey of mental disorders described in the DSMICD including etiology assessment and treatment. Students will examine interdisciplinary evidence regarding psychological health in the context of contemporary clinical practice. Introduction to Counseling Skills Course Description This course prepares future healthcare professionals for positive patient interactions. This course equips students with essential communication empathy and ethical skills necessary for effective healthcare encounters. Students explore culturally sensitive approaches to build strong patient-provider relationships with the goal of improving healthcare adherence.Deliver didactic laboratory andor experiential instruction via multiple formats in-person online or in a 'blended formatProvide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes teaching methodology attendance policies in line with those of the School texts and readings assignments and deliverables timelines and evaluation criteriaProvide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.Uses the Universitys learning management system to post syllabus assignments and other materials and to communicate with studentsAdvises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments by videoconference phone or email and through other University-approved mechanismsProvides service including student mentoring ongoing course development and assessmentAdditional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
