    Position Overview

    This Faculty member provides lecture and clinical teaching in a multi-option NLN-AC accredited nursing Program to students pursuing a Bachelor Degree.

    Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.

    What you will be doing

    • Supervises students in clinical settings
    • Teaches nursing skills and health assessment
    • Assigns grades for classes taught
    • Complies with all class schedules and deadlines for course documentation
    • Acts as a professional representative with the affiliating agency on behalf of the College
    • Teaches the assigned course consistent with course syllabus and school curriculum
    • May be assigned to provide academic advisement
    • May be assigned to participate in departmental and College affairs
    • May be assigned to develop curricula
    • May be assigned to recruit students
    • May be assigned to serve on committees
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    What you need to succeed

    • Masters degree with Nursing Major; and Current Valid Florida License to practice Nursing; and Two (2) Years Equivalent Full-Time Clinical Practice experience as a Registered Nurse.
    • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
    • Theoretical and clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing is required with additional ability to teach psychiatric or obstetric nursing preferred
    • Documented experience with applied teaching and learning methodologies
    • Ability to use technological tools in instruction, and familiarity with active, collaborative and student-centered techniques
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
    • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignments
