Description:
The Department of Petroleum Engineering in the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of Houston is a dynamic, growing organization that offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses.
The Department of Petroleum Engineering anticipates an opening for a temporary, part-time Adjunct Faculty position for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester in the area of Drilling Engineering to teach the undergraduate PETR 3318 Drilling Engineering I course including its lab.
A Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering is required, with industry experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly in Drilling Engineering. Prior experience teaching or delivering courses in Drilling Engineering at the university level is highly desirable.
Adjunct faculty appointments are offered on a semester-by-semester basis and may be renewed contingent upon institutional needs and demonstrated satisfactory performance.

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
