Adjunct Hiring Pool - English Department

This is an open pool posting and applicants will be contacted only if a suitable position becomes available. Pool may be used to fill vacancies for the Fall 2026 - Summer 2027.

This pool expires 05/31/2027. Applicants wishing to remain in this pool past 05/31/2027, must reapply at that time.

Position Summary:

Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of English, which offers programs in English literature; English Education; Writing, Editing, and Publishing; and Film Studies. Candidates must be available to teach face-to-face, not remotely. Please note that the majority of adjunct teaching opportunities is available in the area of college writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MA or equivalent in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach (e.g., Rhetoric and Composition, English, English Education, Film Studies)
• Commitment to and evidence of quality instruction at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach (e.g., Rhetoric and Composition, English, English Education, Film Studies)
• Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment.
• Experience using the Canvas learning platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval.
