Working Hours and/or Working Conditions Must be able to bend and lift equipment used to teach class. To be scheduled by the department as needed, but not to exceed 30 hours per week; may require local travel and travel between campuses; may be required to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Job Function

Teaches health students and the community American Heart Association's HeartSaverFirst Aid and

CPR

and Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers through theWorkforce & Continuing Education's Center for Health Careers.

Job Responsibilities

• Works with the department to offer approximately 20 course offerings per year.
• Assists department with ordering supplies
• Ensures

CPR

cards are ordered from an approved AH provider

• Teaches and evaluates students on proper technique
• Grades students

Education

Post secondary education in health-related field. Certified to teach courses through theAmerican Heart Association.

Qualifications

Preliminary Qualifications

Experience teaching American Heart Association courses required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching post-secondary students preferred.
