Adjunct Instructor, Center for Sport Leadership

The Center for Sport Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University seeks applicants for an ongoing basis to teach courses in the Sports Leadership Master's program. This pool of applicants will be accessed only when an opening arises. The program is seeking applicants to teach both in person (Richmond, Virginia), and online (synchronous Zoom format).

Department: Center for Sport Leadership

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
  • Submit final grades according to School policy

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in sport management or related field
  • Experience teaching or working with students
  • Work experience related to the course topic
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience with master's level students

Salary Range: $5,975.00 per 3 credits taught

FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
