HOURS: Hours will be M-F (To be determined by department) WORKING CONDITIONS: Courses include on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and/or flexible learning. Dependent on needs of the department.

Supervision

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Dean, takes direction from department administration. SUPERVISION GIVEN: May give direction to part-time lab staff as assigned.

Job Function

Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach predefined subject matter as assigned by the department.
• Maintain course materials in the College's Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
• Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
• Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Academic and Workforce Education to meet accreditation standards.
• Assist in facilitating student clinical and or lab experiences as assigned and applicable.
• Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
• Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
• Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College's accrediting agencies.
• Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits and applicable.
• Participate in Academic and Workforce Education committees as schedule permits.
• Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.

Education

Bachelors degree in business administration, information technology, or related field with at least two (2) years of full-time, non-teaching work experience in a relevant field; or

an Associates degree in business administration, information technology, or related field with at least five (5) years of full-time, non-teaching work experience in a relevant field and an industry recognized credential.

Qualifications

3 years information systems security experience. Networking experience. Knowledge and experience with security policy, devices, and strategies; or industry certification and/or professional training. 3 years information systems security (Cybersecurity) experience. Hands-on networking experience. Knowledge and experience with security policy, devices, and strategies; or industry certification.

Preference will be given to those candidates with the following certifications - CompTIA Sec+, CISSP, NMap Wireshark, Kali Linux.
