Description
High Point University (HPU) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Operations and Supply Chain Management for the Undergraduate and/or Master’s in Business Administration Programs. In the undergraduate program, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and related topics to undergraduate students in a face-to-face format. In the MBA program, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate courses in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, and related topics to students in an online and asynchronous environment.
Key Responsibilities
Be responsible for leading courses in supply chain management, logistics and distribution, project management, operations management, inventory control, etc.
Engage in high-quality research that contributes to courses taught and results in staying abreast of new thought and developments in the fields of supply chain, logistics, warehousing and distribution.
Provide mentorship and academic advising to students if necessary
Develop and update course materials to enhance student learning.
Abide by University and School of Business policies
Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the MBA Director
Qualifications
An earned doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered) from an accredited institution is required.
The candidate must have a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework closely related to supply chain or operations management, business management, or a related field.
Teaching experience at the university level is highly preferred in addition to teaching online using various Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard specifically.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in the field of supply chain management, operations, and/or logistics as well as a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities.
Teaching experience in an accredited academic program.
